Bær á Selströnd is located centrally in Strandir, close to the village Drangsnes where there is a shop and a swimmingpool. The untouched nature of Strandir is all around us, offering peaceful walks or just basking in nature. 

Our cottage is equiped with cooking facilities, a refrigerator and a shower.

The old Postal Route from Bær to Kaldrananes has been restored and marked with stone piles. Markings on each side have been built from driftwood using the traditional methods of the people of Strandir. 

You can choose to begin the hike either from Bær or Kaldrananes, just remember to make arrangements to get back to your car or dwelling place. Of course you can finish the route by walking the road around Kaldrananes back.

The hiking trail starts at Bær, going up the hill, Berg, then follow Kjölur with Bæjarvötn on your left.  North of Skammá you cross Bringur and arrive at Bæjarskarð.  From Bæjarskarð you will have a fantastic view of Kaldrananes and Bjarnarfjörður.

This trail is not recommended for people with fear of heigths.
