I live on a tiny island in the middle of the Atlantic ocean.
The importance of breaking out of isolation has always played
a big role for us islanders. In many ways we have been isolated
culturally and thus I look upon the chance of being able to be
a part of something global as Renaissance 2001, as a truly wonderful
chance of braking this isolation. Ever since I joined the Internet
community the barriers of time and space have started to be more
and more meaningless. This is ever so good because it means that
we feel more like earthlings from planet earth rather then belonging
to different parts of the earth. At least us humans can agree
upon one thing we wouldn't be here if it wasn't for GAIA. Everything
we have comes from her generosity.
As an artist I try to be true to myself. Reasons for creating
are simple. Creativity is all around us. Humans have always had
a great need to be creative. I long to be able to create something
many can relate to on a deeper level then pop culture. So I create
from emotions. After all we are emotional beings more then anything
else. I create from the need and the joy of creating and hopefully
that will be reflected in my works.
I choose to label myself as an multi-artist. This is because
that has so many dimensions. I have touched upon many fields within
art. I like them all. I like blending forms of art. That is why
I love the Internet so much. It gives an endless opportunity to
mix and to be mixed with others. I like the fact that I can be
doing something with people from all over the world and time and
space is not an obstacle any more. The whole concept of Renaissance
2001 and the lighthomes is just the way I like to see the Internet
develop and I know how much work there is involved in organizing
such a thing and I am ever so grateful for the fact that this
project is on. I am happy to be part of it......
