After fourteen years of operating in interim spaces in Reykjavík, the artist-run platform Kling & Bang is opening an exhibition space in the newly renovated Marshall House, re-purposed specifically to show art. Kling & Bang is proud to announce the opening exhibition, a group show of eight emerging artists, titled Bad Company. It is a selection of statements from the roaring young Reykjavík scene. The artists work across mediums and the show will include new performances, paintings, sculptures and video works.

Exhibiting artists: Árni Jónsson, Ásgerður Birna Björnsdóttir, Berglind Erna Tryggvadóttir & Rúnar Örn Marinósson, Hrefna Hörn Leifsdóttir & Sarah Rosengarten, Leifur Ýmir Eyjólfsson and Melanie Ubaldo.

The exhibition opens March 18th at 2-6 pm. The Marshall House will be open Sunday March 19th between 12-6 pm and henceforth Kling & Bang will have the regular hours of Wed-Sun 12-6 pm, with extended opening hours on Thursday evenings, until 9pm.

Bad Company runs through April 15th.


Program during the show:

Hrefna Hörn Leifsdóttir & Sarah Rosengarten will do a reading on the opening at 3pm and 5pm.

Berglind Erna Tryggvadóttir & Rúnar Örn Marinósson give a lecture in their piece A Study of International Objects no. 12: Crepes as Movement Sunday March 19th at 3-4pm
Dawson's Crepes, where the artists serve French pancakes will be open on the following times:

23. March, 6-9pm
24. March, 3-6 pm
25. March, 12-5pm

The Marshall House is a new center for visual art in Reykjavík, where Kling & Bang, The Living Art Museum and Studio Ólafur Elíasson will reside. A restaurant and bar will also operate in the building.

Kling & Bang is an artist run exhibition platform, established in 2003. The aim of Kling & Bang is to introduce emerging and established, national and international artists, that challenge the context and content of creative thinking.
