Yes, I
am 45, in the last years I have been absolutely working. Also before,
but I was traveling, too. I grew up in the Village in New York, when
I was ten my parents moved to Italy, and it was with dread that I told
myself that "never ever would I have reached the old age of 30", since
women here wore black long dresses and were mean and the town was miserable,
and I had to study Italian in the afternoon instead of playing with
kids. I graduated at the Translators' and Interpreters' School in Florence,
packed up a couple of things and ran as fast and far as I could. To
Argentina. Then I got to New Orleans in the States. The deep southern
sound psychologically brought me to think I had to get back to Italy
and face nightmares, understand-develop-know.
Now I am
an English teacher at a Secondary School, a movie critic, a translator,
I write, paint, still processing information, puzzling myself in the
game of performing on this never-ending living platform. Movement has
characterized my life, I am easily moved by e/motions, the complex texture
of events ties me to people so that I am still alive in a conscious
responsible choice.
