Gigi Zoppello
Gigi Zoppello,
born 1959 in Bolzano - Bozen (Northern Italy), is a journalist, writer
and poet. First works had been published by alternative Italian magazine
"Frigidaire" (1979-80), and local literary fanzines. He won the
national "Inedito - L'Espresso Prize" in 1985 with his short
story "Funeral Garland for Corporal Fink", later translated and
published in Switzerland, Croatia, Austria. From his works, RAI
(Italian public radio and trelevision) produced four radio dramas. Last
2001, he joined the Poets 4 Peace "Mission 911", and held a poetry
reading in his hometown Trento, along with 14 local poets. "The weight
of a dead" is part of his newest work "Three days with Zanzotto's
words".
