Born in
the extreme north of Norway, 15.3.1953. Finnish and Sami roots. Moved
down south in 1965 and have been on the move since then. Lived in Bergen,
Oslo, near Stockholm, Barcelona, Helsinki and am currently living in
Portugal since October 1999, where I want to stay.
Autodidact
as an artist, although I attended two years at Steinerseminariet,
Sweden, artistic education. After that one year art school in Lofoten,
Norway. Otherwise been a working class hero, more or less, until I ended
up in Finland in 1991 and began to work as an editorial cartoonist
for the newspaper Hufvudstadsbladet, which I continue with, thanks
to the new technology. I have also illustrated magazines and books all
over the Nordic countries and some outside, too. From time to time I
have energy to create whatever I feel for, on paper or digitally, sometimes
using noise and dirty sound. Sometimes I make comics and sometimes I
even paint. I have participated in a few exhibitions but not been too
eager in doing that.
