Word

2005, text installation.

I prepared for this work by collaborating with the theologist
Sigurjón Árni Egilsson. I wanted to make an exhibition on the power of
words, and how a word can make big changes. Sigurjón told me a story from the Bible
on how a word managed to make its way through crowd of people in
the famous biblical story of Jesus and Zaccheus, the tax collector.
I decided to use this story as an inspiration for the work, but the work shows the word ( Orð )
making its way from Zaccheus sitting in the tree, and towards the crowd
of people surrounding Jesus.
