When getting out of the car up on the heath, there
is snow blowing, although no snow is falling. The
snow that fell yesterday is drifting on the road like
smoke. It is bright, the sun shining off the snow;
all is blanketed in snow – only points of rock
and crags protrude through the bluish expanse. The
sun’s rays, low on the horizon, shine through
the drifting snow from time to time, so that everything
shines suddenly in all the colours of the rainbow,
as through a prism; yet it resembles the shimmering
of stars more than a rainbow, due to the frozen snowflakes.
The road is mainly clear and free of snow. The road
surface has been raised up to prevent snow collecting
and blocking the traffic.
At a closer look, snow has collected in all the uneven
places on the road; between the gravel in the tarmac
a pattern of white forms – like the inner surface
of a blood sausage´s membrane. |
