“Anna Hallin & Olga Bergmann have worked together on several occasions before and are now nominated for their exhibition “Ripples” in Kling and Bang Gallery last year.
Both artists often deal with the relationship between science and society in their works and it could be said that their approach is similar to research undertaken by natural scientists but is essentially more about the aesthetic possibilities of the subject matter. At the same time their works can be very challenging like the exhibition in Kling and Bang proves.
In “Ripples” the artists used reflections concerning genetically modified organisms mixed with childhood memories and filled the space with cute but altered beings that were attractive and repulsive at the same time - perhaps a bit like science and art itself.”
