Sigurður Ámundason (born 1986) graduated from the visual arts department of the Iceland University of the Arts in 2012. Sigurður is amongst the more curious artists of his generation and has since his graduation participated in a variety of group exhibitions at spaces such as Reykjavík Art Museum Kjarvalsstaðir, Sequences Real Time festival, Chart Emerging and Salts, Basel Switzerland. His exhibition Re-renaissance in Kling & Bang is his ninth and largest solo exhibition. As well as premiering a brand new performance on the opening of his exhibition in Kling & Bang, Sigurður will exhibit a large site specific installation, video pieces and drawings.

Desargues´s Theorem Lecture and three sculptures

We welcome you to the opening of Geirþrúður Finnbogadóttir Hjörvar´s exhibition on february the 2nd at 5pm. All are welcome and entrance is free.
 
Geirþrúður Finnbogadóttir Hjörvar graduated from the visual arts department of the Iceland University of the Arts and holds an MFA from the Fine Arts Academy in Malmö. She has worked on a variety of projects and shown diligently abroad at places such as Museo La Tertulia (CO), W139 (NL), Cosmos Carl and Kunstverein Milano (IT). In Iceland she has exhibited in places such as Suðsuðvestur, Hafnarborg, The Hafnarfjördur Centre of Culture and Fine Art, the Reykjavík Art Museum and the Living Art Museum, to name a few. Geirþrúður participated in the Internationales Künstlerhaus Villa Concordia and is also amongst the few Icelanders selected to participate in the renowned residency Rijksakademie van Beeldende Kunsten (NL). Having lived and worked abroad for some years, her solo show in Kling & Bang marks a return to the icelandic art scene where she will premier the piece “Desargues´s Theorem Lecture” as well as exhibiting new sculptures specifically made for the space in Kling & Bang.
